Your Voice And Work Are A Legacy: What Kendrick, SZA, And Soul Legends Teach Us About Owning Our Power (And Building A Future To Be Proud Of)

Your Voice And Work Are A Legacy: What Kendrick, SZA, And Soul Legends Teach Us About Owning Our Power (And Building A Future To Be Proud Of)

By Kathleen Caldwell, Founder, Women’s Success Accelerator™            and C-SUITE NETWORK ™ Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council™

Recently, in our Saturday Morning Women’s Success Circle™, we gathered to experience Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s powerful new video, Luther. This soulful track sparked a meaningful conversation about legacy, visibility, and the power of our collective voices to shape the future.

What do you—a woman coach, consultant, trusted advisor, or visionary—have in common with Kendrick Lamar, SZA, and iconic musical voices like Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, and Tammi Terrell?

More than you might think.

Luther is more than a hit. It’s a soul-stirring tribute that connects generations through music and meaning. The song samples the emotional 1982 rendition of If This World Were Mine by Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn—originally performed by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. It’s a love song. A legacy song. A call to imagine and create something better.

When I heard it, I got teary-eyed. And I asked myself: “Am I using my voice and work to build a legacy—and inviting others to do the same?”

Your Message is Music. Your Business is a Legacy.

You may not be a Grammy-winning artist or awarded the Pulitzer Prize for music, but you are a messenger. A force. A voice for change. Like Kendrick and SZA, you’re transforming your life experience into something meaningful and original.

You’re not just running a coaching or consulting business. You’re writing the soundtrack of your legacy.

Legacy is Strategy

When Kendrick and SZA sampled soul legends and beautiful melodies, they weren’t just honoring the past—they were creating intergenerational impact. The estates of Vandross, Lynn, Gaye, and Terrell benefit financially. That’s legacy with purpose.

It raises a bold question: Are you structuring your work to build long-term visibility, income, and influence—not just for today, but for the future?

Too many women stay stuck in the daily hustle mode, chasing clients instead of claiming their space as Category Of One™ experts with a powerful voice and memorable song to sing.

From Overlooked to Unmistakable

I launched the C-SUITE NETWORK™ Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council™ to change that. To elevate the visibility, credibility, and income of brilliant women doing powerful work—but still feeling overlooked, overworked or underpaid.

You don’t need permission. You need positioning, community and Success Swagger™ to execute.

Inside the Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council, you don’t whisper your wisdom. You own it. You rise.

We:

  • Elevate and promote your thought leadership
  • Clarify your brand
  • Align your offers with high-value markets
  • Teach you how to confidently enroll premium corporate and VIP clients
  • Position your voice globally.

This isn’t networking. It’s a launchpad for amplified success.

You Share More Than You Think

Collaboration is at the heart of every lasting legacy. Just like Kendrick and SZA brought together generations of musical voices, collaboration in business and thought leadership creates depth, resonance, and reach.

When women support each other, share the stage, and amplify one another’s gifts, something magical happens. Ideas expand. Opportunities multiply. Impact deepens.

Inside the Council, we believe that true power doesn’t come from standing alone—it comes from harmonizing with others who bring their own brilliance to the mix.

Like Kendrick, you speak truth. Like SZA, your emotional courage resonates. And like the soul legends they sample, your story deserves to be remembered and celebrated.

But being excellent isn’t enough. You must also be memorable.

What’s the Story You’re Telling?

Art lives on. So do the stories we share and the legacies we build.

Ask yourself:

  • What’s the ripple effect of your work?
  • Who benefits from your voice and point of view?
  • How can we lift each other up in harmony instead of competing for the solo?
  • Are you making it easy for the right people to find, engage and hire you?

You must choose to be known. As C-SUITE NETWORK Thought Leader and Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council esteemed faculty member, Sheila A. Anderson, founder of Image Power Play® frequently says: “People need to know you before they need you.” No truer words have been spoken!

This is the kind of deep, energizing, strategic work we do inside the Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council. Not hype. Not hustle. But instead, alignment, abundance and amplification.

The women rising now aren’t waiting. They’re claiming their Category Of One™ positioning and building a future that is expansive and powerful.

Your message is music. Your business is your amplifier. Your voice deserves to be heard—and remembered.

Ready to Rise With Us? Join the C-SUITE NETWORK Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council.
Your legacy deserves it.

The Future of Influence: How Coaches and Consultants Are Building Media Empires and Market Authority

The Future of Influence: How Coaches and Consultants Are Building Media Empires and Market Authority

By Kathleen Caldwell
Founder, C-Suite Network™ Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council™ & Women’s Success Accelerator™

There’s a new game being played in the coaching, consulting and expert world—and it’s not about credentials alone. Influence now drives opportunity. Market authority commands premium fees. And the professionals rising to the top? They’re not just service providers. They’re visible, media-savvy thought leaders building ecosystems around their expertise.

In today’s economy, talent and training are only the beginning. If you want to be the go-to expert in your industry, you must own your platform, activate your presence, and position yourself as a global media brand. Otherwise, no matter how gifted you are, you risk being overlooked.

From Visibility to Market Authority: Own the Platform, Lead the Conversation

Visibility is no longer optional—it’s the starting point. But visibility without ownership is fleeting. Your intellectual property, your media presence, and your ecosystem of content are what make you memorable, hirable and magnetic to your ideal clients.

Whether it’s a podcast, VLOG, newsletter, council, mastermind or book, your platform becomes the foundation of trust. You’re not just showing up—you’re shaping the conversation. The most in-demand coaches and consultants don’t chase clients. They attract them by consistently demonstrating value and thought leadership in their space.

Influence Drives Buying Decisions

Across corporate, nonprofit, professional association and B2C sectors, hiring decisions are influenced not just by credentials, but by presence, platform, and perceived authority. Buyers don’t sift through endless résumés and LinkedIn profiles. They look for the expert who already appears to lead the field.

Early in my coaching career, I thought success was about stacking credentials. I pursued every certification I could get my hands on. But I quickly learned a hard truth: education that doesn’t lead to execution and results is just an intellectual exercise. Influence isn’t earned solely in the classroom—it’s built in the marketplace.

That’s why today, your credibility must be visible. A consistent media presence, strategic affiliations, thought leadership and community engagements that spark conversations—these are the assets that move you to the top of the consideration list.

The Influence Ladder: From Generalist to Market Icon

There’s a clear path to authority, and it’s built step by step. Generalists offer everything to everyone—and compete on price. Specialists narrow in, develop proprietary expertise, and build signature systems. Thought leaders amplify that expertise through scalable programs, councils, books, and summits. At the top? Category Of One™ Icons—professionals who are omnipresent, unforgettable, and undeniably in demand.

The truth? You don’t need to be perfect. You need to be strategic. Thoughtfully designed visibility, paired with consistent value delivery, is what creates traction.

Proximity Accelerates Credibility

Affiliation with high-caliber networks can compress years of credibility-building into months. That’s why I built the Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council™ in partnership with C-Suite Network™—to give women the platform and power to rise faster, together.

Your network equals your reach. Borrowed authority is real—and being part of the right ecosystem and communities instantly elevate your positioning, mindset and satisfaction. I know firsthand how incredible it is to be in a group of like-minded professionals who are going fast and in the same direction… up!

Media Empires Aren’t a Luxury—They’re the Model

You don’t need to be everywhere. But you do need to be seen and heard where it matters.

Becoming your own media company means leveraging podcasts, articles, videos, summits, and social platforms to amplify your message. Repurpose content. Multiply your touchpoints. Make your expertise easy to find, consume, and trust… and always with a call to action!

Your intellectual property isn’t just content—it’s currency. Frameworks, systems, councils, group programs, and high-ticket offers rooted in your IP give you recurring revenue and scalable impact.

What the Most Successful Experts Are Doing Now

Inside our C-Suite Network Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council, we’re seeing our esteemed faculty and founding members:

  • Celebrate each other’s successes and elevate our collective visibility and income generating opportunities
  • Get featured on influential podcasts and media platforms
  • Publish high-authority articles and thought leadership content
  • Host corporate and B2C masterminds, group programs, VIP offerings and high-ticket councils
  • Create scalable frameworks that deliver lasting value.

These women aren’t just visible—they’re highly respected and hired! They’re confidently positioned as THE Category Of One™ in their field.

Strategic Takeaway: Engineer Your Demand

You don’t need to hustle harder—you need to position smarter.

You are no longer simply delivering transactional and ordinary coaching and consulting services. You are building a strategic brand, monetizing your message, and commanding opportunities because of how you show up, not just what you know.

This is the moment to shift from anonymous expert to visible authority. From consultant and coach-for-hire to an in-demand media thought leader. From optional to essential.

Final Word: Leverage the Ecosystem That Elevates You – C-Suite Network™ Is the Gold Standard

You weren’t meant to do this alone. And now, you don’t have to.

The Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council™ is your springboard to strategic visibility, trusted affiliations, and premium client methodologies. In partnership with the global C-Suite Network ecosystem, we give you the structure, support, and spotlight to rise, shine and be paid as The Category Of One.

Whether you’re publishing your next article, launching a podcast, book, council, or turning your expertise into an empire—we’re here to Co-Accelerate™ with you.

Let’s rise. Together!

The Visibility Revolution: Why It’s Time For Coaches And Consultants To Step Into The Appreciation And Income Spotlight

The Visibility Revolution: Why It’s Time For Coaches And Consultants To Step Into The Appreciation And Income Spotlight

By Kathleen Caldwell
Founder, C-Suite Network™ Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council™ & Women’s Success Accelerator™
For Too Long, Coaches And Consultants Have Been The Best Kept Secret. It’s Time to Change That.

Executives, business leaders, entrepreneurs and athletes among so many others who achieve high-level success don’t do it alone. Behind every transformation is a trusted coach, consultant, or strategic advisor guiding the way.

Yet, in most public success stories, we only hear about the visionary, not the strategist.

If the coaching and consulting industry wants to elevate itself, we must shift from being “behind-the-scenes” players to recognized, credible authorities.

I have been a professional, credentialed coach and consultant since 1998, long before coaching became mainstream. I attended one of the original International Coach Federation (ICF) conferences in Greenleaf, Florida—during a hurricane. That experience solidified my understanding of just how powerful and resilient the coaching industry is. Over the decades, I have seen firsthand the profound impact that great coaching has on individuals, businesses, and entire industries.

When Coaches And Consultants Remain Anonymous, Our Industry Loses Visibility

When clients acknowledge their trusted advisors, it raises the social proof and perceived value of coaching and consulting. Visibility directly contributes to greater investment from companies, leaders, and executives who recognize coaching as an essential asset.

The result is a stronger, more profitable and valuable coaching and consulting industry.

The world’s top CEOs, athletes, and thought leaders don’t succeed alone. They have trusted advisors, strategists, and mentors behind the scenes. Yet, when success stories are told, we rarely hear about the coach who helped shift the mindset, the consultant who restructured the strategy, or the advisor who helped navigate the pivot.

We need to change the narrative. Success isn’t a solo act—it’s a partnership.

When clients publicly acknowledge their coaches, they raise the perceived value of coaching and consulting for everyone. Visibility transforms careers and businesses alike.

Remaining anonymous in your industry limits your ability to attract premium clients.

Financial sustainability and growth depend on visibility. If potential clients can’t see the impact you’ve had, they’re unlikely to invest at a premium level. To elevate our industry, coaches and consultants must be willing to step into the spotlight and demonstrate their value openly.

It’s hard to shine a bright light in the world if you can’t pay your light bill! The reality is that sustaining a thriving business requires financial success—visibility is a direct pathway to revenue growth.

Encouraging public testimonials and success stories helps clients proudly share their journeys. Coaches and consultants should be visible parts of these narratives, reinforcing the value of strategic guidance and support.

Businesses that publicly recognize their advisors reinforce coaching as an essential investment. It’s not self-promotion; it’s clarifying and affirming the importance of strategic partnerships in business and personal growth. Positioning coaching and consulting as strategic growth tools is critical!

It’s Important To Join Networks That Amplify Your Visibility

Becoming part of a community of recognized experts not only enhances your credibility but elevates our entire industry’s reputation. Visibility grows exponentially when aligned with other top-tier professionals.

The C-Suite Network™ is precisely such a community, bringing together influential executives, business leaders, and industry innovators. By joining the C-Suite Network Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council™, you surround yourself with ambitious women coaches and consultants dedicated to excellence, growth, and collaboration. This powerful network offers you the resources, strategic partnerships, and high-level visibility needed to position yourself as a distinguished expert and thought leader. Together, we champion your success, amplify your voice, and help you confidently step into premium opportunities that elevate your impact and income.

Claim Your Impact: Overcoming the Fear of Visibility

Yet, even within powerful networks, stepping into visibility requires overcoming a common internal barrier. Many coaches hesitate to ask for public acknowledgment because they fear appearing self-promotional. But here’s the truth: If you don’t claim your role in transformation, potential clients won’t see the value in hiring you.

Embracing visibility is about confidently sharing the real-world results of your work—your expertise is too important to stay hidden. When you openly celebrate your contributions, you set the stage for attracting clients who recognize and value your impact. Remember, owning your expertise is not self-serving; it’s service-oriented. Your prospective clients benefit most when they clearly see how your guidance transforms lives, careers, and businesses.

Make a practice of inviting clients to highlight your role in their achievements. Encouraging testimonials, case studies, and social media mentions positions you as a trusted and valuable authority. By embracing visibility, you empower yourself, your clients, and your industry, opening doors to greater success and fulfillment.

Many coaches hesitate to ask for public acknowledgment because they fear appearing self-promotional. But here’s the truth: If you don’t claim your role in transformation, potential clients won’t see the value in hiring you.

Public appreciation drives visibility, builds credibility, and opens doors to higher-value opportunities. When a client publicly acknowledges your role:

  • You build trust with future clients.
  • You reinforce the ROI of coaching and consulting.
  • You position yourself as an authority, differentiating yourself from competitors.

Make public testimonials and success stories (with the appropriate confidentiality releases) standard practice in your business. Encourage clients to tag you in their success stories and share client wins (with permission), showcasing the real transformations coaching creates.

Join a high-caliber network of top-tier coaches. Visibility and credibility increase significantly when you align yourself with recognized experts.

This is precisely why the C-Suite Network Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council is launching “World Appreciate Your Coach Consultant Week” on April 7 – April 12, 2025.

Why You MUST Become THE Category Of One™ Coach Consultant—NOW!

Why You MUST Become THE Category Of One™ Coach Consultant—NOW!

By Kathleen Caldwell, Founder, C-Suite Network™ Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council™ & Women’s Success Accelerator™

You’ve probably noticed it—coaches and consultants are everywhere. On LinkedIn. In your local and global networking groups. All over social media. The category of coaching and consulting isn’t just growing—it’s exploding.

According to LinkedIn, as of February 2025, over 5 million people have “coach” in their profile—an increase from 4.4 million just a year ago. The number of consultants has surged from 27.7 million in 2024 to 31.2 million in 2025—a staggering increase of 3.5 million professionals in just one year.

In today’s crowded marketplace, being labeled as just a ‘coach’ or ‘consultant’ without more differentiation is a fast track to blending in. With countless professionals using the same generic titles and offers, the risk isn’t just competition, it’s commoditization. If your value isn’t distinct and recognized, clients will default to price-based decisions, treating you as interchangeable rather than invaluable.

The key to standing out is not just claiming your expertise but proving it—positioning yourself with undeniable credibility as ‘THE Category of One’—a Coach Consultant Changemaker™ whose value is distinctive, indispensable, and consistently sought after.

What Does It Mean to Be THE Category Of One™?

Being THE Category Of One (TCOO™) means you don’t compete—you own your space. You are the first and only choice for your ideal clients. You command premium fees and deliver transformational results and outcomes. You’re not just building a business—you’re creating a movement and a global network of partners, allies and advocates! This is an opportunity to blend bold leadership and legacy creating ambition for a life beyond recognition!

As TCOO coach consultant, you:

  • Become the undisputed expert your ideal clients seek first.
  • Command premium fees for delivering transformational solutions.
  • Set new industry standards that others aspire to reach. Instead of following the crowd, you set the benchmark of excellence.
  • Cultivate communities rather than just acquiring clients. You create movements and global networks that extend beyond traditional business boundaries.
  • Offer unique intellectual property solutions, frameworks and methodologies that deliver measurable, consistent value.
  • Move with clarity and calm confidence, knowing you are the authority in your space, ready to deliver results!
The New Rules of Category Mastery: Are You Struggling to Keep Up or Defining the Future?

The global game of business has fundamentally changed. TCOO status is no longer reserved for celebrities, gurus or those with lengthy credentials. Today, it belongs to those willing to step up, stand out, and do the work.

Will it be easy? No. Will it be worth it? Absolutely. Success doesn’t happen overnight—it’s a step-by-step journey of commitment, action, and perseverance. Stay the course, get the right support and mentorship and the results will follow.

To thrive and prosper in the new global economy, you must:

1. Create Something NEW That Provides Distinctive Value

Your success depends on developing and communicating a clear, unique perspective and point of view.

To stand out in a crowded market, you must go beyond conventional offerings and craft something that is uniquely yours. Here’s how to build the foundation for a truly distinctive and high-impact presence:

  • Develop proprietary and innovative frameworks that solve pressing and expensive problems.
  • Create innovative methodologies that accelerate new opportunities.
  • Build systems that deliver predictable, high-value results.
2. Amplify Your Visibility

TCOO professionals do not just provide products and services—they become omnichannel media brands.

Establishing yourself as a true Category of One requires more than expertise—it demands visibility, authority, and consistent engagement across multiple channels. Here are key ways to expand your influence and solidify your position as the go-to expert:

  • Create and publish high-value content across multiple platforms.
  • Host impactful podcasts, video series, summits and thought leadership events.
  • Write books, articles, reports and create programs that establish you as the go-to expert.
  • Build and engage a thriving community of like-minded professionals and clients, while featuring and promoting your loyal and engaged members.
3. Accelerate Your Impact

Success isn’t about waiting for the “perfect” time—it’s about taking deliberate action NOW!

Taking action is what separates those who succeed from those who stay stuck. The key is to move forward with intention, surround yourself with the right people, and embrace progress over perfection. Here’s how to start now:

  • Execute instead of overthinking. Every moment of hesitation is a lost opportunity. Remember that done is the new perfect.
  • Surround yourself with experienced mentors and high-caliber peers—new perspectives ignite breakthroughs.
  • Use your platform for advocacy and awareness – champion a cause for meaningful change, amplifying voices, and driving lasting transformation.
4. The Power of Community—Why You Shouldn’t Do This Alone

Extraordinary success doesn’t happen in isolation. TCOO coaches and consultants immerse themselves in a global network of visionary peers—expanding their thinking and unlocking game-changing possibilities.

That’s why they align with networks that foster high-level connections and strategic growth. Enter C-Suite Network™—the world’s most trusted network of C-Suite Leaders, dedicated to providing unparalleled opportunities for business executives to expand, develop, and lead with impact. As a global media powerhouse and commerce ecosystem, C-Suite Network, C-Suite Radio, C-Suite Publishing, C-Suite Book Club and C-Suite TV combined with C-Suite Network Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council amplify your thought leadership, expand influence, and provide a powerful platform for professionals ready to make their mark on the world.

  • Expand your reach with a powerful global network that connects you to corporate, government, education, and nonprofit clients, as well as media and strategic collaborations.

You don’t have to do this alone—together, we create exponential success.

5. The Market Is Shifting At Lightning Speed—Are You Keeping Up Or Falling Behind? Your Moment For Acceleration Is NOW.

The strategies that once worked are rapidly becoming obsolete. This is not the time to wait and see—it’s time to step up, claim your space, and command your industry. Elevate your presence, own your authority, and position yourself as THE undeniable Category of One. The future belongs to those who take bold action—will that be you?

Remember:

  • You don’t have to compete—you can co-create and Co-Accelerate™.
  • Success comes from being a highly strategic, well-connected, and in-demand expert who delivers unmatched value and prosperity.
  • The era of going it alone is over. True strength and success come from collaboration and Co-Acceleration—we achieve more when we rise and run together.

Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ For Business Or Career? It’s Time To Get It Back!

Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ For Business Or Career? It’s Time To Get It Back!

By Kathleen Caldwell, Founder, C-Suite Network™ Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council™ & Women’s Success Accelerator™

“You’re trying hard not to show it.
But baby, baby I know it. You lost that lovin’ feelin’.
Whoa that lovin’ feelin’. You’ve lost that lovin’ feelin’,
Now it’s gone, gone, gone whoao- hoh.”

You know the song, “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin” performed by the Righteous Brothers and immortalized in the movie “Top Gun” where Tom Cruise sings it to woo Kelly McGillis. You’re probably humming the tune right now.

Lately, have you been finding it difficult to feel the love about your coaching, consulting business or career? “Love,” you say? “Well, I love my spouse, my kids, my favorite sports teams, French vanilla ice cream, but love my business? I am way too busy to love my business. I’ve got emails to answer!”

Loving your business and the work you do is the most important strategic advantage in business today. When people love their work, they are inspired, passionate and committed to excellence. In spite of a turbulent economy, employee and employer dissatisfaction is commonplace. We have all read the studies that less than half of the global workforce feels valued by their employer and a large percentage of employees intend to look for a new job within a year. These people at all levels of an organization dread going to work, are resigned that nothing will change and are livin’ for the weekend. If this describes you or a client of yours, it is possible to start feelin’ the love again and recapture the excitement in your business and career.

Your “Love Your Business Challenge” To Feel The Love Is A Three-Step Process:

Step 1: Take a trip down memory lane and remember when you first loved your work. You felt motivated and excited about going to work. Somewhere along the way, you started pressing the snooze button. Think back to the times when you were bright-eyed and enthusiastic about the massive learning curve that consumed you. Recall when you spent hours immersed in creating a new process or product and not even realized it; when you were energetic, passionate and having fun using your natural strengths and talents.
Remember the first days at your business and how much you enjoyed your clients or coworkers before you had them all “figured out.” You were naturally engaged in conversations about the limitless possibilities of your work, the team’s creative capacities and the company’s future. As corny as it sounds, love was present and palpable.
Write down your loving recollections, feelings and experiences. Remember the old saying, “A short pencil is better than a long memory!”

Step 2: Admit it. Like the song says, “You’ve lost that lovin’ feeling.”
Acknowledge what you’re feeling and do an analysis of where or when this happened. Were you ever tempted to chuck it all and start over in a new business or another company? Take a long, hard and honest look at the decisions you made then about your business, career, clients, co-workers and partners and your future career path. Who was wrong or right in the process (yourself included)? Are you holding on to old beliefs or behaviors that are no longer serving you?

Step 3: Change yourself and your circumstances will change. Begin to think and act as though you actually LOVE your business and career. Behave like a person deep in the throes of passion, follow the love in your business. Give up any resentments, disappointments, hopes or promises about how it was “supposed” to be?

Short pencil in hand; list what you are willing to start/stop/continue doing in order to get the love back again. Make the tough decisions; fire the clients that you are tolerating and don’t love. Leave the job you aren’t lovin’ or courageously reinvent the career that you have written off.
When love is present, there is compassion, forgiveness, appreciation and action. Finding renewed purpose and commitment will widen your view about your work and make a positive impact on your company, community, nation and the world. Yes, the world.

Create an environment that will support you in bringing the excitement back. Engage your mind, body, soul and feet; get moving and take action. Actively seek out communities of other business lovers. Watch out for the naysayers, cynics, doomsayers and the people that are “just getting by” in their professional lives. Study the most successful organizations and people in and out of your industry and see how they love the work they are doing. Construct a new Business Love Manifesto to declare your love to your employees, partners, clients and prospects. Remember that new eyes, ears and moving feet will guide you to new opportunities.

Declare your Business Love Wo-manifesto or Manifesto and share your experiences of renewed love, passion, admiration, puppy love about your business and career.
The positive effects of loving your business will transform the way you approach your daily living and the results you enjoy. My clients report that when they are more loving at work, they naturally have a more loving and rewarding family life.

Loving the work you do and being proud about the contributions you make will transform your life and your business. By engaging in the Love Your Business Challenge, you will create new and rewarding opportunities and have more fun along the way!

Predictions for Success – Women Claim Business Success As Free Agents!

The pandemic has provided women with a special opportunity to step back and reevaluate their priorities and commitments. As a global business mentor to successful women, my clients tell me every day about their urgent need for more professional freedom, income, flexibility, and fulfillment. These are powerful women who will not surrender their dreams and are actively claiming success as business free agents!

In its 2021 “Women in the Workplace” report, Lean In and McKinsey & Company found that 1 in 3 women have considered changing or leaving their jobs in the past year. Furthermore, Deloitte’s 2021 Women @ Work study found that 59% of women feel less optimistic about their career prospects today than before the pandemic. Surveys and statistics point to a major transformation occurring with women and work. Women want more agency, sovereignty, and freedom and are relentless in this pursuit.

Instead of committing decades of their lives to climb the traditional corporate ladder, millions of women are making the bold choice to become CEOs in their own C-Suite. They want more control and more opportunities to choose and scale their own ladders of success!

2022 is the year for women to be courageous and claim success as business free agents!

Free Agency has historically been associated with athletes and sports teams instead of executives and entrepreneurs. Free agents are generally considered to be self-determined and are free to sign a contract with any team or organization that meets their criteria for success. This is also true in the business world. Business free agents are entrepreneurs who can determine who, what, where, why, and how they conduct business. They are not bound by geographical, time zone, and location constraints. Free agents know that business success is created by executing solid strategic plans, delivering value, and transforming problems into positive solutions. The bigger the problems; the bigger the paycheck!

Typically, women pursue business free agency as entrepreneurs because they are managing work and family responsibilities and want more freedom and options. Later in life, women executives are seeking to transition out of corporate life and start a successful business on their terms. These “encore entrepreneurs” create thought leadership businesses to capitalize on their years of knowledge, experience, and relationships while converting these assets into financial equity and impact. Women are natural problem solvers and transformation agents, so they have a unique ability to start, grow and scale successful multi six-figure (annually, monthly or weekly) businesses.

To be a successful free agent, women need to become “A players” in their field of expertise. Leadership skills and confident competence are the “table stakes” of successful free agency as an entrepreneur. Every business owner needs to provide value to their clients while at the same time creating a profit for herself. Women owners do not have to be on the journey alone. Free-agent entrepreneurs can and must build a team to attract, retain and fulfill on their business brand and mission.

Being a solopreneur can be the first stop on the free-agent journey, but it does not have to be the destination. Growing a successful business means achieving more through a leveraged business model supported by a community of mentors, supporters, and advocates.

Women Are Claiming Business Success as Free Agents – Now!

What impact is the women’s free-agent entrepreneurial movement having on the US economy now? According to the Census Bureau’s Annual Business Survey (ABS), women now own 12.3 million businesses, approximately 42% of all US companies.

Women started 1,821 net new businesses every day in 2021 and generated $1.8 trillion this year in sales. To put things in perspective, there were around 402,000 female-owned businesses in 1972. The good news is that the number of women free agent entrepreneurs will grow in the coming years, according to business ownership statistics.

Why is this important for you? Essentially, it comes down to more opportunities. More women free-agent entrepreneurs translates to increased prospects for collaboration, partnership, new clients, innovation, and increased participation in the global economy. As it is often said, “With all women in the game and off the sidelines, we’ve got the “A players” on the field.” So, let’s play ball!

To support the ambitious growth of women free agents, I created C-Suite Network’s Women’s Success Council ™ (WSC) and Women’s Success School ™ (WSS). The WSC and WSS are innovative online communities dedicated to increasing our members’ success and free agency as business owners, CEOs, coaches, consultants, authors, speakers, and visionary leaders. We guide and mentor women to start, grow and scale successful businesses. We operate by the principles of collaboration over competition and “growing the pie, not just splitting it.”

Women Leaders: Break Through Your Upper Limits For Greater Success, Significance And Income!

Women Leaders: Break Through Your Upper Limits For Great Success, Significance And Income!

By Kathleen Caldwell, Founder, C-Suite Network™ Women’s Coaching & Consulting Council™ & Women’s Success Accelerator™

The “Upper Limits Success Strategy ™” goes beyond “positive thinking” to a new dimension of generating consistent and positive results.

Why are some women in business more successful than others? Is it their skills, education, genetics, good looks, hard work, luck, or one of a thousand other reasons? Nope, while these can be contributing factors, beliefs about yourself and what is possible are the fundamental determinants of your success. Your beliefs are your continuous thought processes that dictate your attitudes, actions, and ultimately your outcomes.

If you believe that you can create a successful global business or career, have a happy, fulfilling family life and ideal health you will marshal the resources and opportunities to fulfill those beliefs.

In contrast, if you believe that it is impossible or unrealistic that you could ever write a bestselling book, run a 26.2-mile marathon, make a successful career change or do anything audacious and important to you, you will probably not achieve these grand desires.

However, positive achievements will only happen if you commit and act on those empowering beliefs; even without seeing immediate results. Acting with courage and confidence, you will move beyond the upper limits of what you think is possible and probable into the zone of the unknown and uncomfortable.

Are Your Beliefs Really Serving You?

Some of your beliefs have served you well; however, if there is an area of your life that is not working as you desire, examine what you REALLY believe about it. You may have conscious or unconscious beliefs such as “I’m not good with money”, “If I pursue my interests, I’m being selfish”, “I’m not smart enough, disciplined, connected, or you, the reader can fill in the blanks” that are sabotaging your success.

Break Through Your Upper Limits!

Your “Upper Limits Success Strategy ™” goes beyond “positive thinking” to a new dimension of generating consistent and positive results. As it’s often said, “Success leaves clues.” Model the patterns of what works and what doesn’t work – if you are willing to look carefully. Everyone has their own scotomas or ‘blind spots’; areas where we cannot see all of the opportunities, options, and choices due to rigid, preconceived ways of thinking and viewing the world. Ask yourself, “If there wasn’t an upper limit to my success and happiness, what would I be thinking and doing?” Then think those thoughts and take those actions. Repeat. Get an excellent coach or mentor to help you construct a constellation of empowering beliefs with new habits and an upward spiral of positive momentum will begin to form.

Mastery and Courage Strengthen Your Resolve.

Practice and reinforce your new beliefs and strengthened courage that you can handle anything that comes your way. Learn from your past failures (yes, everyone has them). Do not let them hinder or define you. You now have knowledge about what has not worked for you. New levels of success can change the dynamics in your career, relationships, and your old, preconceived notions of what you can achieve. Yes, there will be unintended consequences and often there is a downside when you get what you want. There may be a loss of privacy if you would like to pursue a political career or extensive travel to build a global business. It is common to avoid being on the world stage for fear of being criticized or risk failing in a public way.

Put yourself on the upward path to success. Be bold and confidently develop strategies and plans to overcome the roadblocks and limits in the way. The world needs for you to succeed, pay it forward and model the way for greatness!

Too Much of A Good Thing? New Strategies to Enjoy Real Work-Life Harmony in the C-Suite

Early morning board meetings, late evening client dinners, conference calls, international travel, a jam-packed family and personal schedule. It’s all good, but it may seem like constant non-stop busyness all the time. Are you doing more, but feeling less satisfied and more frustrated?

Fortunately, there are strategies to increase the real goodness and harmony in your life. Your ability to prioritize and optimize all the abundance you enjoy comes from making the right decisions about what is “important to do” rather than what is simply “nice to do.”

Evaluate and set your criteria. Determine the key professional and personal priorities, causes and activities that are truly aligned with your core values and highest intentions for the short and longer term. Turn inward and evaluate where you are accomplishing the most good and receiving the most personal satisfaction. Are you saying “Yes” more often and “No” less frequently because you are afraid of being left out? Learn to say “No” to the ordinary to be able to say “Yes” to the outstanding. Take a stand for what you really want!

Plan and prioritize. Look at your week and month and list your intentions and commitments. Sort the important from the merely workable. Think of your life in three pillars: career/business, health/family, faith/education/renewal and consider adopting the 8-8-8 model for your daily schedule. Designate eight hours for work and business, eight hours for yourself and your family priorities and eight hours for rest.

Make time for yourself every day. Part of your personal pillar should include some “me time” for peace, quiet, reflection and rejuvenation. Consider rising thirty minutes earlier and starting the day off with some movement, stretching, meditation, self-hypnosis or quiet contemplation. You will feel more successful and grounded versus feeling scattered and off balance.

Be consistent. Make regular deposits into your body’s energy savings and reserves account by eating whole, real food and engaging in regular physical activity and prioritizing restorative sleep. Inevitably you will need to make energy withdrawals when you are involved in challenging projects or are working long hours. With enough reserves, you have enough goodness to draw upon and your energy account will be charged and healthy!

Real work-life harmony takes courage and awareness. Model these traits for yourself, your family and your organization. Your life will be better for it!
