Ashley Merrill and Davina Farahi: ‘Luxury products that market themselves’

Ashley Merrill, the CEO of Lunya, a luxury sleepwear brand and Davina Farahi, founder of Shaya, a luxury pet carrier, joined GenBiz and the C-Suite Network to talk about their brands and entrepreneurship. Merrill says her brand is a reinterpretation of sleepwear inspired by her personal experience of always wearing her husband’s old T-shirts to bed. Farahi says she found her market after needing a pet carrier for her pup and realizing that she could make a purse that was both versatile and fashionable. Farahi advises female entrepreneurs to have a tough exterior and to use a strong tone in investment conversations. Merrill tells GenBiz and the C-Suite Network that good businesses solve problems with distinct products, and it’s about products that market themselves.
