Mark Worthy is an action-oriented and highly engaged advocate for personal, as well as professional growth and development. He has successfully mentored students, faculty and staff as they segue into graduate education and/or career achievement.
As an international consultant for educational development, Mark has lived and worked extensively abroad. He developed English-based programs of study at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen, the Netherlands, which culminated in academic specializations related to International Aid and Development (IAD), and International Public Health (IPH). Furthermore, Mark’s services were secured as a Senior Technical Manager for Dutch Telecom. Previously, Mr. Worthy was attached to both the United Nations Educational and Scientific Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), in Paris, France. Mark is an advocate for culturally sensitive pedagogy and culturally sensitive leadership. He is frequently invited to speak on issues related to intercultural communication, as well as the development of intercultural skills and competence.
Recently, Mark was invited to participate in the Academic Leaders Program conducted by the Monterrey Institute of Technology-Queretaro. Thereafter, and due the warm hospitality that was bestowed upon Mark, he decided to relocate from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Queretaro. Currently, Mark has been employed in the private sector as a Senior Business Consultant within the domain of presentation skills training, learning, and development. In 2015, he commenced as a Visiting Professor at the Monterrey Institute of Technology Department of Communication and Digital Art and the Department of International Relations. He mentored and advised students and held the position as Faculty Advisor for the campus Cimarron Toastmasters Club.
Prior to arriving in Mexico, Mark was a Professor in the Department of Education at Brown Mackie College, Albuquerque, New Mexico and frequent Guest Lecturer at the University of New Mexico (UNM). He taught undergraduate courses in public speaking, argumentation, rhetoric and critical communication andragogy. In addition, Mr. Worthy is a member, held in high esteem, with Toastmasters International organization and is a fully online member. He achieved the status as Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) in 2015.
