Ghazi Muhammad is a Speaker, Author, Trainer, Empowerment Coach and Professional Story Teller. He has impacted and inspired  thousands of at-risk and disconnected youth throughout the country for over two decades.

Growing up in the rough streets of St Louis he was detained  three separate times in juvenile facilities, once in a drug rehabilitation center for teens and had run away from home on six different occasions. This was  all before he was 14 years old. At the age of 17,  Ghazi entered into the Missouri Department of Corrections for men where he would remain for 7 consecutive years.

For him, prison became his university. He spent over 3 1/2 years in solitary confinement and there he developed an insatiable appetite for reading. He read everything that he could get his hands on and soon began sharing what he was learning with other inmates. His ability to inspire men behind bars gained him a reputation as a great speaker. 

After his release in 1995, Ghazi began working with non profit organizations and local schools to help slow down the school to prison pipeline. He developed mentoring programs and visited many schools delivering passionate, heartfelt messages that resonated with students and faculty alike. He had found his purpose in life.

As a serial entrepreneur, Ghazi has started six businesses over the past 20 years and in 2017 published his first book “Straight Up: 17 Lessons On Living Authentically”.  Ghazi has become known for his unique ability to blend the world of academia and the world of the streets in an impactful manner and bring up out of it solutions to problems facing today’s youth and those who works with them. am a former C-Level technology executive that lost it all. After going through the near death of my mother, the IRS putting liens on everything I owned from a failed business and a brutal divorce, I was wiped out. I was spiritually, financially and emotionally broken. However, it took me making a decision to succeed and commit to my purpose. And I did just that.

I recommitted to my education. As someone that went through an undergrad in engineering tech and two masters degrees, I was no stranger to school. I just learned all the wrong things. Instead, I studied the wealthy. This meant studying sales, psychology, emotional intelligence – all those things needed to conduct business and win deals. All this, in combination with a stoic philosophy, is what lead me out of the darkness.

Today, I am a real estate entrepreneur that has built a portfolio of multifamily real estate valued at $30MM. It wasn’t without its struggles and I am not even close to realizing my full potential.
