I absolutely LOVED the show #washingtonblack on ​⁠ @hulu . It’s the type of story I need right now. I love seeing #blackboyjoy. I loved the Black love stories in the show as well. I did not see many younger Black girls in the show but I felt they had a strong range of Black women in different roles, which I thought was great as well. I was sad about the show as well because it shows what could happen when our children are pushed to be the best they can be. I highly recommend it!

Last night on  @CNN  #abbyphillip started her segment with a factcheck about Slavery, including playing a recording of a formerly enslaved person. We cannot let #jillianmichaels, #scottjennings, #donaldtrump or anyone else deny what little history has been taught. It used to be taboo to platform #holocaust deniers but now many are popular. Now the same thing is happening (again) with Slavery and we can’t allow it!

So many pundits are saying that if #trump was really interested in reducing crime, he would send the troops to Southeast DC and not areas like Georgetown. As someone who lived in Southeast for over 20 years and is still a homeowner there, I am in Southeast weekly and I am connected still to the great work happening in DC. Southeast needs more services, not more police. Southeast has the highest concentration of youth but the schools get the least amount of funding. Even local museums are closing because of #trump budget cuts. More policing doesn’t end crime. Social services and partnerships do. It’s like people are saying don’t occupy the nice parts of DC, just Southeast and its’ really unfortunate.

I so appreciated what ​⁠ @SymoneSandersTownsend  said to Joe Scarborough on #morningjoe. Joe lives in the 1990s when talking about DC. He mentions former (deceased) mayor Marion Barry more than he mentioned the current mayor Muriel Bowser. I’ve never heard him say her name. Furthermore, I drove through DC last night and saw exactly what I expected. I saw more police in the nicer areas of DC like around the monuments and NO presence in the hood and poorer areas of DC. This is about protecting some people who live, work, and visit DC from the rest of us. #symonesanderstownsend was right to challenge Joe on his views.

#petehegseth announced that he is restoring statues of #confederatearmy generals. No country honors losers of wars like the United States. This is the latest proof that #trump is focused on installing a White supremacist presidency. People often ask when are the democrats going to show some fight. I believe many have been fighting, but the manner in which democratic legislators have fled #texas coupled with the democratic governors who have embraced them and have expressed interest in redrawing their own maps is a fight that is necessary to save this democratic experiment. #trump seeks to rule through his intense bullying and we cannot allow that to happen!
