Brian was born in 1961 in Toronto, Ontario, the same year his legendary father, Bob Proctor, was given the book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, which began his father’s 60-year journey into personal development. For close to 30 years, Brian worked alongside his father as he taught from some of the world’s largest stages. 

Brian found his niche in marketing and business development. In the very early years of the internet, Brian originated an idea to build an email list to create value and a platform for his father to share his teachings. This idea set Bob Proctor’s company up for success by opening the door early to email list building long before that was the industry standard.

“Facing Denial, Embracing Vulnerability”

Join me and my guest Dr. Andrew G. Kadar. Dr. Kadar, is a renowned physician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was used to taking care of patients—not being one himself. But just as he was embarking on a new marriage, a few episodes of minor chest pain sent this healthy, successful anesthesiologist to his doctor’s office, where he received a shocking diagnosis: he had severe heart disease and required immediate open-heart surgery. With extraordinary wisdom and unflinching candor Dr. Kadar describes his unexpected journey as a man in seemingly excellent health into the dire realm of illness and subsequent recovery.

This is a reprise edition of one of the first interviews I did for this podcast in 2019. I’m republishing it in honor of an extraordinary human being. It’s well worth your time.

Elisabet Sahtouris, Ph.D. was an evolution biologist, futurist, author, speaker and consultant on Living Systems Design. Showing the relevance of evolving biological systems to organizational design, she traveled the world as a speaker, offering speeches and workshops. 

Dr. Sahtouris was a citizen of the United States and of Greece, with a Canadian Ph.D. She did her post-doctoral work at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, taught at the University of Massachusetts and M.I.T., was a science writer for the HORIZON/ NOVA TV series. She was invited to China by the Chinese National Science Association, organized Earth Celebrations 2000 in Athens, Greece, and was a United Nations consultant on indigenous peoples. She was a participant in the Humanity 3000 dialogues of the Foundation for the Future, the Synthesis Dialogues with the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, and consulted with corporations and government organizations in Australia, Brazil and the USA. 

Her books include Biology Revisioned; A Walk Through Time: From Stardust to Us; and EarthDance: Living Systems in Evolution; as well as our Evolutionary Leaders anthology, Our Moment of Choice. She recently completed a book recounting the amazing adventure that was her life, Vista: Life and Getting to Where You Want to Be.

Elisabet used nature’s principles and practice, revealed in biological evolution, as useful models for organizational change. She applied them in the corporate world, in global politics and economics, in our efforts to create sustainable health and well-being for humanity within the larger living systems of Earth.

Elisabet was well known for popularizing the butterfly story of transformation, which she never claimed to have discovered. In recent years, she put forth her powerful keyboard metaphor of the spectrum of consciousness.
