Many executives and business owners do not realize how much their employees passwords (or lack of them) put their business at risk. Simple passwords (like “password123”) are often found in precompiled lists used by attackers in Dictionary Attacks to infiltrate organizations and steal data.
Given the rise of attacks and security threats that businesses face today, account password security should not be overlooked and leave your business exposed. Having complexity requirements for all systems and applications passwords is an important concept to implement within your organization. Not only does it reduce the risk of Dictionary Attacks, they protect against brute force attacks, limit the impact of a breach if a password is stolen and are a foundational element of cybersecurity.
