Criminals love small businesses and individuals because they often have weaker defenses. It’s not personal, it’s just easier. Smaller businesses have less staff, less resources and usually less protection in place. Criminals normally use automated tools to scan for any opportunity, regardless of your size.
The good news is, by implementing basic cybersecurity measures—like strong passwords, regular software updates, and employee awareness training—even small businesses and individuals can significantly reduce their risk and make themselves a much harder target.
