Bridging the Gaps: Organizational Development Essentials for Sustainable Nonprofits
The October 8, 2025, session of the C-Suite Network™ Nonprofit Prosperity Council will be an important conversation on organizational development gaps in the nonprofit sector. Far too often, leaders focus on immediate needs, programs, fundraising, day-to-day operations, while unintentionally skipping over foundational areas that determine long-term sustainability.
To explore this topic in depth, council leader Hugh Ballou will be joined by a distinguished guest, Dr. Arthur Darby. Arthur brings a wealth of leadership experience as a former Air Force Chaplain and a seasoned community advocate. He has a strong track record in church and nonprofit leadership and is highly skilled in research, mentoring, organizational management, mental health, and pastoral counseling. In addition, Arthur’s academic background includes master’s degrees in criminal justice/public administration and theology from Liberty University. He also brings military discipline and certified workforce expertise to our discussion.
Key Takeaways
• Identify overlooked areas of organizational development that weaken sustainability.
• Recognize the long-term risks of skipping governance, financial planning, culture, and systems.
• Apply practical strategies to close gaps and strengthen nonprofit resilience.
You will receive a sustainability gaps checklist as a diagnostic tool for boards and leadership teams.
This is a private council, but we invite guests to join us for one visit.
