Be Known Where it Matters

Success and Celebrity are not synonymous.

My entire career has been dedicated to visibility. Mostly for others: PR, Communications, Creative Direction, and Brand Strategy, for artists, filmmakers, composers, VFX artists, Entrepreneurs, executives, coaches, and consultants.

Even during my standup comedy days, I often hid behind costumes, characters and dialects to avoid revealing myself. I even turned down the opportunity to sign with a powerful agent and go on the road to play the college circuit. I loved acting but chose screenwriting instead.

Why? Lemme ask you the same thing? What is your aversion to “being famous”?

It turns out, there’s a difference between courting fame and being known. And you may be curtailing greater success because you don’t have “the fame bug” and you mistake exposure for over-exposure.

In a few weeks, you’ll have the chance to unlock some of the mysteries to achieving just the right amount of notoriety in the pursuit of your big picture goals.

Oxford English defines a “success” as “a person or thing that achieves desired aims” or “attains fame, wealth, etc.”Merriam-Webster defines “fame” as “The fact or condition of being known to the public.”

We needn’t consult either dictionary to understand what “wealth” and “desire” are. In a recent poll of my audience, 38% of respondents asked for a talk about success without fame. Fact is, while we see the value of our “Personal Brand” in the pursuit of our big picture goals, many of us do not want to be famous, or “known to the public.” We want to keep a part of our world to ourselves, and understandably so.

On Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 1pm ET, I’ll be hosting an END-OF-SUMMER BRANDNANZA!!! Just kidding, it’s a TALK. A rap session. A conversation with you all about:

  • Being a Thought Leader;
  • Reaching Your Audience;
  • Achieving your Goals; and
  • Establishing your legacy.

All without becoming a household name.

Importantly, there will be NO PITCH of my services or anyone else’s from the Zoom stage. I’m easy enough to find if you feel I can be of service to you.

As something of an optional primer for the talk, I’m providing you with a link to the .99 cent version of my book, “Selling the Truth: A ‘Semoir’ with Insights for Life and Business,” (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FH7GHGZG) in case you’re down for some amuseful reading in advance of what promises to be a fun, fascinating, and insightful ride through the process of becoming an expert, an authority, a leader, a VIP, and a success, all without becoming a celebrity. Reviews are appreciated, but you can’t be moved to rave about the book until you read it!

I really hope you can make it. The official event page is HERE.
