Janet Scardino is a creative media executive who has grown successful television and digital businesses in the US and internationally. A general manager and accomplished brand marketer, she has launched and operated multi-platform businesses for some of the world’s most recognized media brands, including MTV, Disney Channel, AOL, Reuters and American Idol. Janet loves start-ups and has spearheaded over ten new businesses.
Janet is currently the CEO of the non-profit Comic Relief USA, which harnesses the power of entertainment to drive positive change. As their first CEO, Janet introduced the British cultural phenomenon Red Nose Day to America. Red Nose Day is dedicated to ending child poverty. The annual campaign engages millions of Americans across the country by making it fun to come together and give back. Red Nose Day has raised over $100 million in its first three years, with funds supporting programs for children in all 50 states in America and around the world. Comic Relief also was the charity behind the recent Hand In Hand Hurricane Relief Benefit, which was viewed by over 18M Americans and raised over $62M.
Janet has been honored by The Girl Scouts, received a Highest Leaf Award by The Women’s Venture Fund, and was recognized with an Irma Mann Distinguished Speaker Award. Janet and her husband live in NYC.
