Barbara Basney is the former Vice President, Global Brand, Advertising Media for Xerox Corporation, headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut. From 2003 to 2018, Ms. basney served as a member of the Xerox global corporate marketing leadership team, overseeing Xerox integrated brand, marketing strategy and implementation. She has over 20 years of deep expertise in integrated global marketing communications strategy, campaign design and integrated omnichanell media execution, that transcends paid/owned/earned media. As well as leadership responsibility for brand strategy and activation, that includes corporate identity, naming, design and trademark. Prior to joining Xerox, she had marketing and communications roles at Tektronix Inc., Thrify Payless Drug Stores and Convergys.
Barbara Served on the board of directors of the public company Student Transportation, Inc., which is the third largest school bus transportation services provider in North America (NASDAQ:STB). She is also on the Ad Council and International Advertising Association boards, and serves on the National Advertising Review Board panel. She is a member of the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), as well as Advertising Women of New York. In 2014 and 2017, she was named on teh Brand Innovators list of the top women in brand marketing. And, was also listed by the Internationalist as a top multinational marketer in 2011, and a top marketing leader in 2014/2015, and named in 2018 as one of the top 100 women in Native Advertising.
A native of Cherry Hill, N.J., Barbara grew up in Germany. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and a master’s degree in marketing from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. She currently resides in Stamford, Connecticut.
