This is a special book with a special agenda that I reveal in just a moment. But before I do that, let me give you the lay of the land. First of all, this book is all about business. At its core, this book teaches business thinking for business people in all industries. No matter what your field is, try to think broadly when reading this material in order to absorb and apply it to your life in the best possible way. Secondly, the material in this book is generally geared towards advanced (meaning more financially successful) professionals because those are the people with existing momentum who can use this material to propel themselves to the next level—but again, all professionals at any level can highly benefit from the tips and tricks in this book. All are welcome here! This book is made up of 101+ “tricks of the trade”, grouped into sections based on the concepts and principles I have used throughout my career for building businesses. Each of these insights is a piece of business wisdom – some of which I use every day. Some insights help me regularly, while some are strategies that I put to use only when I start a new, substantial endeavor, which does not happen too often. Each insight could be a white paper or even a stand-alone book, but the purpose of this collection is simply to create an awareness of the many principles, best practices, methods, mindsets, and tricks of the trade available to you as you build your own “money-making machine”. My goal is not to take a deep dive into the details of each element because either alone or through collaboration with others, you will figure it out. That is what resourceful people do. Warning: Do not try to implement all of these insights at once. Pick a few and work on them first. Then, over time, add a few more. This is not designed to be quick and easy. You are going to have to work on it to gain mastery. But the effort will be worthwhile.

My new book is about women who have beaten the odds. Early on, they heard the whispers….the inner-call to leadership. They answered, and continue to answer it, with fierce passion—and the courage, boldness and resilience required to rise to the next level and the next, and the next. They continually polish their talent with a capacity to work really hard, help others succeed, and play the game fair and honest. They never lose sight that their purpose is to be kind, generous, and to dare greatly to make the world a better place. These women are doers and risk takers. They face their fears head-on. When they misstep, they pick themselves up and use the lesson to inform their steps forward. Along the way, they are patient with the ebb and flow of life. Many become devoted wives, partners and mothers while still building careers and influence. They all remain true to their work as leaders in the world, carrying it out with the grace, diplomacy and fortitude it requires. Welcome to the lessons these amazing women teach us

In an environment where many organizations think of human capital assets as little more than expense items that impact the bottom line, this book will help human resource (HR) professionals initiate a shift toward a new culture in which management views employees as true partners in achieving organizational success.

The Field Guide to Achieving HR Excellence through Six Sigma provides detailed guidance on how to utilize the Six Sigma methodology and the TLS Continuum to achieve the business model that is required to thrive in today’s business environment. The book demonstrates a clear path to continuous improvement that is based on the practice of spreading quality throughout the organization so that it becomes everyone’s responsibility.

This book is the sequel to Achieving HR Excellence through Six Sigma. In this book, Daniel Bloom provides a road map on how to implement the concepts found in the first book.

The book begins by explaining how to create an HR Center of Excellence and then provides an understanding of the define-measure-analyze-improve-control (DMAIC) process and its implementation for HR. This road map will help you determine where your organization is failing to meet the voice of the customer.

The book presents proven Six Sigma solutions for initiating and sustaining organizational change as well as strategies that allow leadership to make adjustments to processes if your organization falls short of meeting the need of the customer. It includes case studies of organizations that have successfully utilized the Six Sigma methodology to improve workflow and correct HR issues including the actual project documents used to implement the methodology.

A word of caution: If the reason you are looking to improve work flow is to find ways to reduce headcount, then this is not the book for you. Instead, if you are looking for a guide that can help you become a strategic partner, administrative expert, employee champion, and change agent, then fasten your seat belts and begin this worthwhile journey.

Literature and history are filled with epic, romantic love stories Antony and Cleopatra, Napoleon and Josephine, Lancelot and Guinevere, Romeo and Juliet, Orpheus and Eurydice but who has experienced or witnessed a real-life love story? As François de La Rochefoucauld has written, True love is like ghosts, which everyone talks about and few have seen. It is exceptionally rare, and A Love Story is a book bursting with passion that describes a remarkable union of two souls, whose single powerful flame inspired everyone they touched. It is a radiant source of inspiration that describes how two lovers met and inspired each other forever. The story is told through a rich tapestry of luscious poetry and anecdote. If everyone lived their lives this way, the divorce courts would be empty and world peace would prevail.
