CEO & Superintendent, Village Tech Schools
David serves as the Superintendent/CEO for Village Tech Schools. His goal for Village Tech is not just to be another school choice, but to re-imagine the possibilities for public education and redefine what school can do for and with kids. He graduated from Duncanville High School and then went on to the University of Arkansas where he repeatedly told his friends in engineering and business that a degree in history would not mean he would go into teaching. After earning his Master of Arts in Teaching, he returned to his alma mater to teach geography and creative writing. While at Duncanville High School, he was twice honored as Campus Teacher of the Year and in 2011 was named the Region 10 Teacher of the Year. His favorite teacher is Mrs. Gawedzinski who taught him what it meant to love writing, teaching and students. “She allowed us into her world, while completely invading ours with love and laughter and intelligence,” David said.
