Health & Wellness

LeAnn Thieman is a nationally acclaimed professional speaker, author, and nurse who was “accidentally” caught up in the Vietnam Orphan Airlift in 1975. After her Operation Babylift story was featured in Chicken Soup for the Mother’s Soul, LeAnn became one of Chicken Soup’s most prolific writers. She went on to author the New York Times Best Seller Chicken Soup for the Nurse’s Soul series, followed by 13 additional Chicken Soup for the Soul books.

With over four decades of in-the-trenches nursing experience and 22 years helping hospitals and organizations recruit and retain nurses, LeAnn proves that healthcare givers strong of mind, body and spirit deliver better patient care, resulting in improved outcomes, satisfaction scores and reimbursements.

Her deep expertise in self-care, work-life balance and workplace wellness drove her to create SelfCare for HealthCare, a transformational program that improves retention, resiliency, engagement and recruitment within healthcare systems. Now she is bringing these outstanding results (20% increased engagement, 16% decreased sick days, 14% increased retention) to individuals and corporations within all industries and of all sizes.

LeAnn is one of ten percent of speakers worldwide to have earned the Certified Speaking Professional designation. In 2008 she was inducted into the Speaker Hall of Fame, and in 2018 was awarded the Legacy of the Speaking Profession.
